DESCRIPTION:I am very excited to be a part of the VIA Rail Program this year.  Last year we performed on the train from Toronto to Vancouver and it was an awesome experience. \nThis year again I’m teaming up with Kate Weekes and we will perform on the train from Montreal to Halifax.  Once in Halifax\, we will be embarking on a Home Routes Tour of the East Coast. \nThis is my first time to the East Coast and I have always wanted to go.  So I’m more than a little excited about this one! \n

DESCRIPTION:The Grant Simpson Quintet will be performing at the Nanjing Jazz and World Music Festival in Nanjing China.  This is my third time at the festival which has now grown to a five city festival. \nThe master erhuist Dong Jinming is the Artistic Director of the festival and we have the honor of performing with his orchestra this year at the opening ceremony of the festival. \nThanks go to the Cultural Services Branch of the Yukon Territorial Government under the minister Mike Nixon.  Cultural Services has a program called the Artist Touring fund which enables artists to capitalize on opportunities such as the Nanjing Jazz Festival and many others. \nFive Finger Rapids in Nanjing with Chaney 2010
