Well, it’s nice to be home in the Yukon. I arrived back and there was enough snow to start getting excited about Dog Mushing and five days later I was out on the trails – which feels wonderful. Nice to be back hanging out with my pals and fellow musicians and be cozied up in my little cabin in the country. The Yukon is a glorious place to live – but I have to say, China was a wonderful experience and I am looking forward to returning there – hopefully next year.
A remarkable place with some very wonderful people. One of the highlights for me was a short session of music-sharing with Master Don who is a multi-instrumentalist from Shaxi in the Yunnan Province. We have made tentative plans for a future project which wil include some collaboration and also learning each other’s material.
